Laporta wants Barcelona to sign Aguero this summer
The Man City striker will be availabe on a free
Of the many things Barcelona hopes to accomplish this summer, one of the more important ones is figuring out who will be the striker for the club moving forward. The long-term vision is someone like an Erling Haaland, but in the short-term, Barca may be forced to look elsewhere due to the club’s financial difficulties.
That vision and the plan to execute said vision hinges on who is elected as Barcelona’s president. One Joan Laporta hasn’t been quiet about his plans in the offseason should he get elected as president.
According to the Times, Laporta is eyeing signing Sergio Aguero this offseason on a free deal. The Argentinian teammate of Lionel Messi could be a nice addition in the short term and suit Barcelona’s budgetary restrictions given he’s out of contract.
What sounds better than an aging injury-prone striker on a thick contract? Anything to help Messi feel at home I suppose.
