The teenager is in line for an improved deal

Barcelona are reportedly planning a new and improved contract for Pedri to reward the youngster for the huge impact he’s made at the club this season.

The teenager was tipped to go out on loan before the start of the campaign but has forced his way into the team and become a fixture in the starting XI.

Barca feel that his performances mean his current contract is a “joke” and want to secure his long-term future and give the youngster a pay rise, according to Sport.

The report adds a four or five-year deal is being planned at the moment, although his €400 million release clause will remain the same.

Pedri has made it clear this season that he’s at the club of his dreams and really doesn’t want to be anywhere else so an agreement shouldn’t be hard to fine.

Sport claim there’s no great rush to get the deal done but that Pedri’s renewal is one of the club’s priorities at the moment.
