Ter Stegen hails Barcelona’s ‘incredible’ youngsters
The goalkeeper is impressed
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been full of praise for the club’s young players who have played a key role for the club this season.
The Germany international spoke about how impressed he’s been by players such as Pedri, Oscar Minguez, and Sergino Dest who have all featured regularly in 2020-21.
“It’s incredible to see how they youngsters are playing. Pedri has been playing every game for weeks on end. That’s insane at his age,” he said.
“The youngsters have more energy. When you ask how they are after the games, they tell you ‘good, we’re going out to kick the ball around’.”
Ter Stegen also spoke about the title race ahead of a crucial weekend in La Liga. Barca take on Atletico, while Real Madrid play Sevilla and the 29-year-old’s feeling confident.
“After the hard start, now we’re still able to become champions. It will be open until the last week,” he added. “Coming back against Valencia was very important for us and will give us confidence ahead of the clash with Atletico.”
