Koeman facing ‘decisive’ run of fixtures - report
The boss is under scrutiny at the Camp Nou
Ronald Koeman’s future at Barcelona is once again the subject of heavy speculation following Tuesday’s disappointing defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It’s not the result that has caused the damage particularly but more Koeman’s approach to the match and the failure to even manage a single shot on target in the 90 minutes.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta sent a message to fans after the defeat calling for calm but reports are claiming the club chief could be running out of patience with Koeman.
Catalunya Radio are reporting the Bayern loss has “raised doubts” about Koeman’s continuity and the board are hoping for a reaction from the team.
Up next is a run of three La Liga games in a week for Barcelona, against Granada, Cadiz, and Levante, and the Barca chiefs are expecting to see a change on the pitch.
Diario Sport have a similar report and also feel the next three games are crucial. The report reckons Laporta was annoyed at seeing Barca throw the title away last season and “wants a Barcelona nothing like the one he saw on Tuesday night.”
The report adds that tensions are rising at the Camp Nou with Koeman said to be in a “delicate situation.” The suggestion is that Laporta doesn’t really feel this is the right time to fire Koeman but will pull the trigger if Koeman’s Barca team doesn’t shape up quickly.
