Barca Femeni hammer Real Madrid in Women’s Clasico
Manita time!
Barcelona Femeni crushed Real Madrid 5-0 in Sunday’s Liga F Clasico at Montjuic. The hosts were without Alexia Putellas due to injury but it made little difference as they romped to an emphatic win.
A one-sided first half saw the hosts score three goals and hit the woodwork three times, while the visitors didn’t manage a single chance.
Barcelona opened the scoring after just 17 minutes with a wonderful move that ended with Aitana Bonmati applying the finishing touch.
A flowing move down the left ended with Aitana receiving the ball on the edge of the box, taking a touch and then curling a low shot home.

Aitana then smashed a shot against the woodwork before Salma Paralluelo was sent through on goal and put an effort just wide of the post.
Caroline Graham Hansen then thought she’d made it 2-0 after turning her defender inside and out but her shot rebounded off the frame of the goal.
The second goal finally arrived two minutes before half-time. Paralluelo’s great strike from range hit the woodwork, but Graham Hansen was on hand to net the rebound.
Barcelona then made it 3-0 in stoppage time. A corner in from the right wasn’t cleared properly and fell to Mariona Caldentey to loop it over the goalkeeper.

The champions continued in the same vein in the second half by bossing the game but had to wait until stoppage time to score. Again it was Aitana who proved too hot to handle, running at the Real Madrid defence and pulling it back for Claudia Pina to finish from close range.
And yet there was still time for a fifth. La Masia graduate Vicky Lopez put the icing on the cake by becoming the youngest player to score in a Women’s Clasico by netting Barcelona’s final goal at the age of just 17.

Barcelona’s win maintains their perfect start to the Liga F season after nine games played. Jonatan Giraldez’s side sit on 27 points from nine games, now six clear of Real Madrid and Levante.
