The president wants positivity

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has given a motivational speech in the wake of disappointing defeats to Girona and Antwerp.

Laporta spoke at a club Christmas dinner and urged all at Barcelona to get behind the manager and the players during these tough times.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Despite the sporting disappointments that are also part of the world of sport, we will never give up as long as day after day we feel proud to represent the best club in the world,” he said.

“We will go out to compete in the four competitions; Super Cup, Cup, League and Champions League.

“I ask you to support, today more than ever, and more than ever these days, our players and our coach to accompany them along the way of victory. Together we can achieve it”

Laporta’s rallying cry comes ahead of a trip to Valencia at the weekend. Xavi has a good record against Los Che and has won all three games that he’s managed against the club in La Liga.
