Barca pocket tidy sum as Riad completes Palace move
The deal is done
Chadi Riad has completed his move to Crystal Palace from Barcelona which will bring the Catalans a tidy sum.
The Premier League side have paid €15 million plus variables for Riad, with Barca set to receive a total of €10m, according to Mundo Deportivo. Real Betis also receive around €7m from the transfer.
The transfer is good news for all involved, with Riad looking forward to experiencing life in the English top flight after a season on loan with Betis.
“I was interested in coming here because of the history of the club, and the league in which it plays,” Riad said.
“They have been telling me how they played this year and I think it complements perfectly the way I play. The club has high-level players who are young and I have come here to follow their same trajectory, to grow as they have grown.”
Palace finished last season strongly after Oliver Glasner was appointed as head coach and have some exciting talent in their ranks such as Adam Wharton, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.
