More blaugrana progress by Hansi Flick. After being confirmed the new FC Barcelona coach for the 2024/25 season and witnessing the handball team's European tournament win last weekend first-hand, the German was at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Tuesday to start making plans for the coming season. Joining him was the Director for the Football Area, Deco.

11 blaugranes for Euro 2024 - FC Barcelona
Eleven blaugranes in six different national teams will fight to become European Champions in 2024. The tournament which takes place in Germany and begins on Friday 14 June with the final to come on 14 July. This year's edition is a special one as Barça have set another record: 11 players from the Club will be involved in the tournament, surpassing the 10 who took part in the delayed Euro 2020 championships in 2021.

Barcelona and Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong will not make the Euros this summer, with his ankle injury not healing in time for him to return. The 27-year-old picked up an ankle problem after a collision with Fede Valverde in El Clasico a little under two months ago, but will not be back in time.

Former Barcelona manager and legend Ronald Koeman has blamed the Catalan giants for Frenkie de Jong’s absence at the Euros this summer, saying they were reckless with the 27-year-old. The Dutch midfielder was ruled out of Euro 2024 on Monday, due to an ankle problem that he has failed to recover from.
