Another Guiu situation? Barca could lose Valle for bargain fee
Action is needed
Barcelona will reportedly have to make a decision on Alex Valle’s future fairly soon or risk losing him for just €3 million.
Valle is back for pre-season after a season on loan with Levante, and it’s been claimed he could be part of the first-team squad for the 2024-25 campaign if he can impress.
Barcelona certainly have a shortage of left-back options in the senior squad, and little money to play with, which means this is really a golden chance for Valle.
Yet Barcelona do have a small issue with the defender. His current contract only runs until 2025 and contains a release clause that drops to just €3m on 1st August, according to Marca.
All of which means that if Barca do not agree a contract extension with the youngster in the next few weeks there is a risk of losing him for a small fee.
Barcelona have already seen Marc Guiu head to Chelsea this summer for just €6m, after his release clause was triggered, and surely won’t want to see something similar happen with Valle.
