Barca Atletic bring in winger as second summer signing

Barcelona Atletic have dipped into the transfer market and confirmed the signing of winger Raúl Dacosta from Ponferradina.

The 22-year-old has signed a deal until 2026 and will join up with the team now led by Albert Sanchez.

Here’s the club’s official statement:

“FC Barcelona and SD Ponferradina have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Raúl Dacosta. The attacker joins Barça Atlètic and will sign a contract for the next two seasons, being linked to the Club until June 30, 2026.

“The Galician footballer has passed the medical tests, has visited the FC Barcelona facilities and this Saturday he will join the Barça reserve team’s training sessions under the orders of Albert Sánchez.”

Dacosta has enjoyed time at Celta, Real Madrid and Espanyol during his youth and also played for Spain’s Under-16s.

He joined Ponferradina last season and bagged three goals and six assists in 23 outings for the club.

Dacosta is Barcelona Atletic’s second signing of the summer after Mamadou Fall Mbacke penned a permanent deal following a season on loan from LAFC.
