Barca to decide on whether Araujo requires surgery
Some big decisions need to be made
Barcelona are set to make a decision shortly on whether Ronald Araujo will need surgery on the injury picked up at the Copa America.
Araujo has sustained a muscular problem and is due back for tests at Barcelona which will determine the severity of the injury and how much time he will miss.
There’s been little information provided about his injury so far. Reports have claimed the area was too swollen to make an accurate diagnosis, but the fact he walked off in tears suggests it could be a fairly serious problem.
Diario Sport are now reporting that there is a chance that Araujo may have to go under the knife which would be a big blow for both player and club.
If he does require an operation then it’s expected he will miss the next four months and will not return to action until mid-November or even December.
However, there is still a chance that only conservative treatment will be required. If that’s the case it’s thought Araujo will only miss upto two months.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some good news.
