Williams has ‘everything to succeed’ at Barca - Rivaldo
The Brazilian has urged the Catalans to do the deal
Barcelona have been urged to sign Spain and Athletic star Nico Williams by club legend Rivaldo who thinks he’d be a great fit at the Camp Nou.
Joan Laporta is said to be willing to do all he can to sign Williams this summer, and Rivaldo thinks it would be a great deal for his former club.
“Given the cost of his release clause and everything he has been doing, I think it is a very reasonable value,” he said.
“He is a player who has stood out with his performances at Athletic Club this season and now he is doing incredibly well with Spain at the European Championship.
“He has everything to succeed at FC Barcelona, the club has to consider him.”
Yet it’s still seems difficult for Barca to meet Williams’ release clause this summer. Recent speculation has claimed they would have to sell Raphinha or Frenkie de Jong to land the forward, while Chelsea are also thought to be keen on the 21-year-old.
