Barça agree six-year deal with Dani Olmo, present new offer to Leipzig
The Catalans appear close to bringing back their former academy star
Barcelona appear to have taken a major step in bringing back one of their former youth academy stars and one of their main priorities in the summer transfer window as the Blaugrana have agreed a six-year contract with Dani Olmo and presented a new and improved offer to his current club RB Leipzig, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Barça’s new offer includes €55 million guaranteed, much closer to the reported €60 million release clause in Olmo’s contract, and another €7 million in add-ons that could bring the total value up to €62 million. Leipzig have yet to respond to the latest offer, but Olmo’s commitment to only accepting Barça’s proposal could finally get the deal over the line.
Leipzig have historically been tough negotiators but usually accept the player’s personal preference in transfer deals of this magnitude, and Olmo’s very clear desire to return to Barça will likely prove crucial in making the deal a reality.
Olmo became Barça’s number one target once the deal for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams appeared to collapse last week, and the Catalans moved fast to engage in serious talks with Leipzig to secure an agreement for another of Hansi Flick’s priorities.
