The forward has been sidelined

Barcelona have offered an update on Ferran Torres’ injury after the forward was forced off with a problem early in Sunday’s win over Alaves in La Liga.

Torres has already pulled out of the latest Spain squad and tests have now confirmed the full extent of his injury.

Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:

“Tests conducted this morning have revealed that first team player Ferran Torres has a right hamstring injury. His return to training will be determined by his recovery.”

Barcelona haven’t said how long Torres will be out for but media outlets have been busy speculating on the length of his absence.

RAC1 reckon it will be “7-8 weeks” on the sidelines for Torres, while Diario AS are a little more optimistic and think it might be just 4-5 weeks.

Either way, Torres is set to miss some key games for Barcelona after the international break against Sevilla, Bayern, Real Madrid and Espanyol.
