The midfielder’s long-awaited return is close

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is being tipped to include Gavi in his matchday squad for the team’s next La Liga game after the international break against Sevilla.

Gavi has been out for almost a year with an ACL injury but has been back in first team training since the start of last month.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Flick is thinking about having Gavi in his next squad as the midfielder is in the “final stretch” of his rehabilitation and is feeling good.

Barcelona are determined to be cautious with Gavi but it seems the youngster is simply in great shape and at a “stratospheric level” in training.

The report even claims that Flick and Co have had to “jokingly” ask Gavi not to be quite as intense in sessions - although the coaching staff are aware that this is his very nature.

Gavi has another two weeks over the international to work on his fitness, and hopefully it won’t be long until we can finally see him back in Blaugrana.
