Yamal has undergone tests, which have revealed no injury, but will return to Barcelona as a precaution.
Here’s the official statement:
“Lamine Yamal underwent an MRI this morning in Madrid to assess the discomfort he reported after the match against Denmark.
“The tests have not detected a structural injury and the RFEF medical services confirm that it is an overload.
“Prioritizing the player’s health and to avoid any risk of injury , given the imminent match against Serbia, it was decided to suspend his squad.”
The move allows Yamal to rest and recuperate next week and potentially be ready to play Barcelona’s next game against Sevilla.
