The teenager’s ankle is still an issue

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick looks set to have to cope without Lamine Yamal when the team return to action on Saturday against Celta.

Yamal was ruled out for a couple of weeks at the start of the international break with an ankle sprain, although it had been thought he could make the squad for the trip to Balaidos.

However, the latest update suggests that Yamal is still feeling a bit of pain in his ankle and is likely to miss out after all.

Diario AS report he is “practically ruled out” and quote a dressing room source as saying “it is very difficult for him to play on Saturday.”

The news will be a blow to Flick who will need no reminding that Barca have lost both La Liga games this season when Yamal has been out.

Yet Flick should at least have Robert Lewandowski available after he was ruled out of Poland duty with a back injury. AS say he will train on Thursday and be ready for Saturday’s match.
