Exciting youngsters Ibrahim Diarra and Arouna Traore are jetting out from Mali to join Barcelona from the Academie Africa Foot.

The club confirmed in a post on X that the two players were heading to Catalunya:

“Our two players, Arouna Traoré and Ibrahim Diarra, are flying off for a sports stay at FC Barcelona. They are accompanied by our 1st Vice-president, Mr Seydou Diallo. A great adventure begins.”

Diarra has already enjoyed a stay at Barcelona previously and is now expected to sign a deal with the club when he turns 18 in December. It’s thought he will link up with Barcelona Atletic, and the club are believed to have high hopes he could make the grade at the club.

He will be joined at Barcelona by a familiar face as Traore is also going to enjoy a stint in Catalunya: “As part of our partnership with FC Barcelona, Arouna Traoré will have the chance to spend a sports stay with the legendary Catalan club. An enriching experience to grow as a player!”

Traore is a striker who will spend some time training with Barcelona before heading back to Mali. He will surely be hoping he can follow in Diarra’s footsteps and also secure a place at Barca in the future.
