The RFEF are on board

Barcelona have reportedly been handed a huge boost in their latest bid to register forwards Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

The Catalans are set to appeal to the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD) on Tuesday in the hope of getting La Liga to overturn their decision not to register the duo.

According to Catalunya Radio, Barca’s bid is set to be boosted by the inclusion of a “favourable report” from the RFEF.

The Spanish Football Federation has “prepared a report” that should help get the two players registered. The report states that the current “regulations are obsolete” and also that there are plans to modify them in the summer.

Barcelona are therefore hoping they will be granted a precautionary order that will allow both players to feature for the rest of the season.

A decision is not expected before their next game against Athletic Club the Spanish Super Cup but could come before any potential final. Both Olmo and Victor have been included in the squad for the tournament.

The report adds that the RFEF has previously “felt pressured” by other clubs having previously rejected the registration of the two players in a joint statement with La Liga just days ago.
