Rumors: Juve set sights on Barca’s Ronald Araujo
The Serie A side want to strengthen their backline
Juventus have reportedly set their sights on Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo as they look to bolster their backline this winter.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Araujo is the “new name” on the Turin giants’ wishlist in the January transfer window.
Juventus have lost Bremer and Juan Cabal for the rest of the season and are keen to make signings to replace the duo.
The Serie A side already have a list of targets but have apparently added Araujo, with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli “trying to understand the feasibility of the deal.”
Juve are trying to find out if Barca would be open to a loan but, as the report notes, there is no indication that the Catalans are willing to let him go.
Araujo made his return from injury at the weekend by featuring in the Copa del Rey win over Barbastro, playing the whole 90 minutes for the Catalans.
The defender also spoke about his future after the game and confirmed he’s in talks over a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2026.
