From Scotland to Serie A

Barcelona have confirmed that left-back Alex Valle has joined Serie A side Como for the rest of the season on loan.

Valle has spent the first half of the campaign in Scotland with Celtic but is now heading for a new challenge with Cesc Fabregas’s side in Italy.

The defender will link up with former Barcelona star Sergi Roberto at Como, following his move to the club on a free transfer last summer.

Here’s the club’s official statement:

“Agreement reached between FC Barcelona and Como 1907 for the loan of the player Álex Valle until 30 June 2025. Option to buy not included.”

Fabregas is happy to have the youngster on board and thinks he will help his team at both ends of the pitch.

“Álex is a talented young defender with a solid foundation from his time at Barcelona and valuable experience gained during his loan at Celtic,” he told the club’s media.

“His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively will be a great asset to our squad.”

Barcelona will be hoping that Valle can enjoy plenty of game time with Como before he returns to the club at the end of the season.
