Barcelona confirmed on Friday that midfielder Gavi has become the latest young star to extend his contract at the club.

The Catalans have already tied down Ronald Araujo and Pedri and have now secured Gavi’s long-term future in what is more good news for the club.

Here’s Barca’s official statement:

“FC Barcelona and the player, Pablo Páez Gavira “Gavi”, have reached agreement regarding a new contract, and he is set to remain at the Club until 30 June 2030.

The blaugrana midfielder signed his new contract today alongside FC Barcelona Joan Laporta, first vice-president Rafa Yuste, and the Club’s director of football, Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco”.”

Gavi has returned to fitness this season after almost a year out of action with a serious knee injury picked up on international duty.

It’s been a long and hard road back for Gavi but he is now looking back to his best for the Catalans and can hopefully stay injury-free now.

Barca aren’t done there when it comes to renewals either. Defender Inigo Martinez is expected to be the next to renew and sign a new one-year extension at the club.
