Juve step up Araujo interest, now pushing for permanent deal
A loan is no longer an option
Juventus continue to be linked with a move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, with the latest update claiming a loan deal is no longer being sought.
Initial reports had suggested that Juve wanted the defender on loan for the rest of the season which always looked to be a non-starter.
Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Juve are ready for talks with Barcelona and want to “explore a permanent deal/loan with obligation, not straight loan/with option.”
There’s a similar update from Relevo on the situation. Their report says Juve don’t want to waste time “as they urgently need to buy a central defender.”
A permanent deal is said to be viable after Barcelona’s Super Cup final with Real Madrid on Sunday, with Juventus apparently pushing to get the deal done.
Araujo’s agent has already admitted interest from Juventus and it seems that the defender now must decide whether to head to Turin or stay Barcelona.
