‘We’re going to go at them’ - Martinez relishing Super Cup Clasico
The defender says his team will go on the attack
Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is looking forward to Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup and says his team know how to attack Los Blancos.
Hansi Flick’s side ran out 4-0 winners when the two teams met in La Liga earlier in the season and Martinez is hoping for another win and a trophy on Sunday.
“We are very motivated and excited. It’s the first trophy of the year and we want to win it, it can push us on in the other competitions,” he told the club’s media.
“We know what we have to do, where to attack Real Madrid, and where they can be got at. We are going to go at them, full of confidence and with a more than capable squad.”
Martinez is expectd to start again in defence alongside Pau Cubarsi and will be up against the likes of Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
Barcelona booked their place in the final with a 2-0 win over Athletic Club, while Real Madrid beat Real Mallorca 3-0 on Thursday.
