Araujo determined to prove critics wrong at Barca

The defender is ‘100% committed to improving’
Barcelona’s defeat to Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night has seen Hansi Flick’s side come in for criticism.
Ronald Araujo has been singled out by some sections of the support, particularly after the defender gifted Dortmund their third goal of the night.
It’s been a tricky season for Araujo. He was linked with a move away in the winter before signing a new contract. However, speculation persists he will be gone in the summer as he’s behind Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez in the pecking order.
Diario Sport have an update on Araujo and say that the Uruguayan is refusing to be “dragged down by the external negativity” of his performance and is “one hundred percent committed” to improving.
The defender is said to have a great relationship with Hansi Flick and remains totally committed to Barcelona. He’s said to be “more focused than ever” and well aware of the importance of the next few weeks as Barca head into the business end of the season.
Araujo missed a huge chunk of the season due to injury suffered on international duty and has had to be patient since returning.
His start against Dortmund came only because Flick was protecting Inigo Martinez, who was a booking away from suspension, meaning he’s likely to be back on the bench against on Saturday against Celta.
Yet a packed fixture list means Araujo will be needed in the coming weeks by Flick and Barcelona, and he looks like he has a point or two to prove.
