La Liga appeals decision to clear Olmo and Victor to play for Barca

Javier Tebas and Co are refusing to give up
Barcelona’s Dani Olmo and Pau Victor registration saga took another twist on Monday as La Liga officially appealed the CSD’s decision to clear the duo to play for the club for the rest of the season.
Javier Tebas has already made his feelings about the decision crystal clear, and the Spanish top flight has now issued a statement which outlines their complaints.
Here’s the statement in full:
“LALIGA has filed an administrative appeal and requested precautionary measures against the Resolution of the High Council of Sports of April 3, 2025, which upholds the appeal filed by FC Barcelona before the CSD, resolving:
‘…to uphold the appeal filed by Mr. Pere Lluís Mellado Bailo, acting on behalf of and representing FCB, and by the players of said club, Mr. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Mr. Pau Víctor Delgado, annulling the agreement of the RFEF-LaLiga Coordination Agreement, dated January 4, 2025, by which the prior visa and the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for the aforementioned players are not granted, also understanding that they have a valid license, in accordance with the terms expressed in the legal grounds.’
“In this regard, LALIGA believes that the Resolution seriously violates the regulatory framework regarding financial control and the processing of sports licenses, undermines the general interest of the competition, and compromises its integrity by violating the principle of equality between clubs. All of this justifies the need for an urgent judicial response that, through the adoption of the requested precautionary measures, guarantees the competitive balance and financial sustainability of the professional competition.”
It remains to be seen what will happen next. Barca had considered the matter closed but La Liga is seemingly refusing to give up.
