Time for some number crunching

Barcelona continue to be linked with several players this summer but Luis Diaz’s name continues to keep popping up.

The Colombia international appears to be the club’s top priority, but his hefty price tag means it will be very difficult for Barca to sign him this summer.

Mundo Deportivo have an update on the situation and claim it is possible if the Catalans make a “major sale” this summer.

There’s no suggestion of which player that may be, but you can imagine Ronald Araujo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are two potential candidates.

MD reckon that Barcelona will be able to return to the 1:1 rule and register Joan Garcia with a flurry of transfer activity this summer.

The club have already offloaded Alex Valle and Clement Lenglet, earned a tidy sum from Jean-Clair Todibo’s move to West Ham and could still wave goodbye to Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre and Inaki Pena.

Barcelona could also potentially see more windfalls from moves by former players Francisco Trincao, Oscar Mingueza and Mika Marmol - as they hold sell-on clauses for all three.

Yet more work would have to be done to land Diaz which once again makes it difficult to see the Liverpool star making the move this summer.
