Barcelona’s Camp Nou return gets complicated as ‘200 deficiencies’ found

Barcelona’s hopes of returning to the Camp Nou have been further complicated after “200 deficiencies” were found by the European Clubs Association (ECA).
A new report from RAC1 says the deficiencies were found during the first phase of construction and mean Barca’s hopes of returning in mid-September are in serious doubt as there is little time to put them right.
Barcelona had been hoping to return for the game against Valencia on September 14 with a capacity of around 27,000 but it’s not clear now when they will be able to come home.
Joan Laporta did speak about the situation at the Gamper Trophy but didn’t place a date on when they may play their first game back at their famous old home.
“We are doing everything in our power so that the works go at the pace they have to go. We are going hand in hand with the Barcelona City Council, it has seen that it is a work of the city and the country and we are all aligned so that the first occupation can take place and we can return as soon as possible,” he told reporters.
“If you have seen the works, it is a joy to see it. He is getting better and better and I hope we can return to our home as soon as possible. We ask for success, for the Barça fans to be happy, for them to have a good time at the Spotify Camp Nou and we are sure to experience unforgettable moments.”
