Barcelona finally register Roony Bardghji on Deadline Day

It took until the very last day of the transfer window but Barcelona have finally solved the issue of their registrations as Roony Bardghji was registered on Monday morning as a Barça Atlètic player, according to the Catalan Federation’s website.

Barça’s initial plan when signing Bardghji this summer was to register him as a Barça Atlètic player, but La Liga recommended against it as they saw the Swedish winger as a first team signing from the Catalan club. The Blaugrana then worked hard to open up enough salary cap space, but weren’t able to register Bardghji’s contract and opted for the more urgent registrations of Gerard Martín and Wojciech Szczesny.

The league will now watch Roony’s situation closely and monitor whether or not he makes enough appearances for Juliano Belletti’s team. Bardghji will have to spend at least some time and play a few games with Barça Atlètic throughout the season, but he will be part of the first team’s dynamic for most of the campaign.

Barça plan to revisit Bardghji’s situation in January and make an effort to register him with the first team if there’s more salary cap space available then, but for now he will have to split time between the senior squad and Barça Atlètic.
