Barcelona confirm Pedri injury after Slavia Prague win

Barcelona have offered an update on midfielder Pedri after he was forced off with a hamstring injury in Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

Pedri has now undergone further tests to determine the severity of the injury, with the Catalan giants have confirming he will miss the next month of action for Barcelona.

“Tests carried out this morning have confirmed that Pedri has a muscle injury to the biceps femoris of his right leg, which he sustained in the match against Slavia Prague. The recovery time will be one month,” read a club statement.

The news will be a blow to Barcelona and Hansi Flick, although the club will be relieved it’s not a more serious injury that requires more time off.

Pedri now looks set to miss La Liga games against Real Oviedo, Elche, Real Mallorca, Girona and Levante. The midfielder will also sit out Barca’s final Champions League group phase game against FC Copenhagen and the Copa del Rey quarter-final tie against Albacete.
