Barcelona include ‘fear clause’ in Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s loan move to Girona

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to seal a loan move to Girona, with the transfer expected to be completed in the coming days.
Ter Stegen has been left out of Barcelona’s squad to face Slavia Prague in the Champions League and given permission to have a medical with Girona before signing on the dotted line.
The goalkeeper will then spend the rest of the season with Michel’s side but won’t be able to face Barcelona when the two sides meet at Montilivi in February in La Liga.
According to multiple reports, Barcelona have included a ‘fear clause’ in the loan deal which means Ter Stegen will not be able to face his parent club.
Girona can break the clause – by paying a substantial fee to Barcelona – but it’s not expected that the club will do so.
If goes according to plan, Ter Stegen could make his Girona debut in the next round of La Liga fixtures. Girona return to action on Monday against Getafe in La Liga.
