Dani Carvajal breaks silence on Clasico spat with Lamine Yamal ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has spoken about his spat with Barcelona star Lamine Yamal in October’s Clasico ahead of Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final between the two old rivals.

Yamal riled up Real Madrid ahead of kick-off with his comments which led to Carvajal confronting the teenager after the final whistle.

Carvajal was asked about the incident and insisted it was not a big deal.

“You guys don’t forget anything, do you?” he said with a laugh.“Lamine is young, and I think he wasn’t entirely on point in the days leading up to the Clásico. But that’s all.

“Everyone tries to defend their own interests at club level. Lamine is a great guy. Obviously, I don’t wish him the best for tomorrow. But that’s it, I’m not making a big deal out of it.”

Yamal is expected to start for Barcelona against Real Madrid on Sunday after being named on the bench for the 5-0 win over Athletic Club in the semi-finals.
