Why Barcelona are set to hand Dani Olmo a pay rise as part of improved contract
Dani Olmo is set for a new and improved contract for Barcelona that will also see the Spain star handed a pay rise by the Catalan giants.
The 28-year-old’s contract extension has “already been signed” and will come into force this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Olmo’s been handed a pay rise for his third season with Barcelona as a sign of gratitude by the club. Barca want to reward his loyalty as Olmo turned down more lucrative offers when he returned to Barcelona to help the club comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
The report adds that Olmo “even reduced his initial salary” to help the club register him and will now be given a raise to bring him into line with his standing as a regular in the first team and to “compensate for the first two seasons.”
Olmo is contracted to Barcelona until 2030 and has often divided opinion among supporters in his two years at the club since returning.
Injury problems have been an issue for Olmo, although he has been more robust in 2025-26, making 49 appearances in all competitions for Flick’s side.
