World Cup 2026 is in full swing and the first round of matches is now officially complete. There’s been a total of 24 games played so far and 75 goals scored in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

This year’s tournament is the biggest ever edition of the World Cup and has seen hydration breaks implemented and new rules implemented.

There’s also been plenty of highlights already. Lionel Messi wowed fans across the world yet again with a hat-trick for Argentina against Algeria, while Cristiano Ronaldo had a night to forget against DRC Congo.

Pre-tournament favorites Spain found it tough going against Cape Verde, being held to a shock goalless draw, although we did see the return from injury of Lamine Yamal.

Elswhere, the USMNT impressed in their opener against Paraguay, Germany smashed seven past Curacao, Sweden bashed Tunisia and there were also good wins for France and England.
