Barcelona star Raphinha came up against Hamza Abdelkarim on Saturday as Brazil took on Egypt in a World Cup warm-up in Cleveland.

Abdelkarim has made the Egypt squad following a winter move to Barcelona. Barca are expected to make the transfer permanent this summer and hand him a chance to impress in pre-season.

Brazil ran out 2-1 winners with Raphinha grabbing an assist for the winning goal by Endrick. Bruno Guimaraes had earlier opened the scoring but Egypt hit back quickly through Mostafa Ziko.

Raphinha and Abdelkarim then enjoyed a nice moment after the game as they swapped shirts in front of the cameras.

The Barcelona star then spoke about Brazil’s performance as they fine tune preparations for this summer’s tournament.

“The result gives us confidence. We’re going to try to improve even more to arrive at the World Cup, if not perfect, then as close to perfect as possible,” he told GE TV.

Brazil’s first game of the World Cup is against Morocco on Saturday 13th June, while Egypt open up against Belgium two days later.
