Barcelona reportedly remain interested in Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra and are planning on making a move to try and convince the 23-year-old to join the club.

A new report from Plaza Deportivo claims that Deco wants to offer Guerra a six-year contract in a bid to prove to the midfielder that the club are betting on him for the long-term.

Barcelona want to try and convince the midfielder that a transfer to Camp Nou is his best option and will then approach Valencia to discuss a possible summer transfer, per the report.

Valencia do not want Guerra to leave under any circumstances but could wave goodbye to the Spain star if his release clause is triggered.

Previous reports have claimed his clause is currently €40 million and then rises to €60m, meaning that if Barcelona really do want to make a move it may have to come sooner rather than later.

This rumor is picking up momentum but still seems curious as Barca’s focus has to be signing a new striker and Hansi Flick already has plenty of excellent options in midfield.
