The keeper and the striker are clear that the Barça defender "is an important player for us"

Marc-André ter Stegen and Sandro Ramírez have both said they were sorry to hear about the four match ban for Gerard Piqué against which the Club has launched an appeal to the Appeals Committee. If the decision is confirmed, he would be an important absence for the side according to the two players who appeared at a promotional event on Wednesday in Barcelona.

The German goalkeeper said of Piqué: "He is an important player for us and we will miss him but we will try to do our best without him." The striker from the Canary Islands for his part described Piqué as a "key" player but at the same time stating that the squad was strong enough to deal with the defender's absence for the trip to San Mamés on Sunday to face Athletic.

Ter Stegen explained that for him to start the league campaign in the starting eleven would be very positive. "To play in the league would be very nice but I don't know if I will. That is a decision for the coach, at the moment it is my job to train and work hard," he concluded.
