Barcelona targeting Premier League sensation? -- Report

One of the English Premier League's early season sensations is catching the eye of a lot of big teams, and that may include Barcelona.

That's if you believe the Daily Mail, that is reporting an alleged interest from the Treble winners in Leicester City winger and league top goalscorer Riyad Mahrez. According to the outlet, Barça scouts have been alerted to keep an eye on the Algerian and watch him in the upcoming weeks, once club football returns from the international break.

The 24-year-old has been a solid performer since joining The Foxes, but his start to the season has been beyond phenomenal. With four goals in four matches, he has been the reason why his team is currently third in the Premier League table, ahead of giants like Manchester United and Arsenal. The Gunners, by the way, have also been linked with Mahrez in their famous-and-unsuccessful journey of finding a new striker, but no deal was done in the summer window, which opens the door for the Blaugrana in January.

Here's the problem: this report comes from the Mail, which means this is very likely to be just another story to sell some papers. Plus, while Mahrez has been good, he's probably another "Great Stats/Bad Team" case, and not good enough of a player to back up three of the best players in the world at Barça.
