Roma coach Rudi Garcia: "Drawing with Barcelona gives us confidence"

AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia wasn't exactly suffering after his team got a 1-1 draw at home in their UEFA Champions League season opener, mainly because the result was against current UCL winners, Barcelona. According to the French manager, his players sacrificed to give their best effort in benefit of the team.

Garcia also pointed out that getting such a good result against the toughest opponent in the world boosts his group's confidence that they can reach the knockout stages of the European Cup. Here's a few more of his post-match quotes:

"It's an important result for us. Drawing with Barcelona will give us confidence for the future and for the rest of the competition. We were very good tactically and all players were involved in the game, sacrificing themselves. We could have done better on the counterattack and with the final ball for our chances, where we could have been more dangerous, but I am happy because my players did pretty much what we prepared for this evening.

"The team has grown since last year, which has helped us to gather experience. We can do great things. We have players who are familiar with this competition like Mohamed Salah and Edin Džeko, but everyone played very well, like Morgan De Sanctis and Manuel Iturbe when they were involved."
