Athletic Bilbao hero Aduriz on hat-trick: "Happiest night ever"
While Barcelona fans and players are hurting because of the 4-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup, one man is more than happy.
Friday's hero at San Mamés, striker Aritz Aduriz, the first man to score a hat-trick against the Blaugranes in more than 10 years, described his performance as the "happiest night" of his career with the Basque club. However, Aduriz does not think the tie is over, and knows that it will be difficult for BIlbao to secure the advantage at Camp Nou, next Monday.
Here's a few highlights:
"We’re very pleased, but we know how difficult it is to win at Barcelona.
"Coming back from four-nil down is almost impossible, but the second leg will still be very difficult.
"If we win the trophy on Monday then tonight may be the happiest night I’ve ever had with Athletic.
"[However], we can’t think that [this result] will be enough at Barca’s stadium.
"[In the second leg], we must be ourselves, do what we’ve been doing, try to get a goal and be strong defensively.
"All our goals were important. On the pitch, we’re always just trying to carry out our philosophy."
