Barcelona hint at January exit for Gerard Deulofeu

Having spent some time in Serie A last season, Gerard Deulofeu is no stranger to playing in the Italian league, which is just as well, as he could be making a swift return.

Deulofeu has failed to impress so far and Barcelona are also not short of attacking threats with Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele added to the ranks and Jose Arnaiz emerging from the B team.

It seems therefore that Deulofeu isn’t needed nearly as much as he was given the injury problems early on in the season and he could be making a move this transfer window according to Guillermo Amor, Barca’s head of institutional and sporting relations.

Speaking after the win over Levante, Amor discussed Deulofeu’s place in Barcelona’s plans and some thoughts on what the future may hold for the winger.

“There are many players in the squad: some fall into our plans, some don’t,”

“Deulofeu is currently among those [not in our plans], so he’ll have to wait for his chance.

“In order to gain a better understanding of where his future lies, we’ll have to wait a few days.”
