Ivan Rakitic endorses Aleix Vidal’s potential move to Sevilla

Ivan Rakitic has endorsed a teammate’s happiness following Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Levante on Sunday. Following the game Rakitic discussed Aleix Vidal’s potential move back to Sevilla in the transfer window.

​”If he decides to go to Sevilla then, as a team-mate and a Sevillista, I would that like very much.”

”I wish him all the best. He already knows them very well, he is a player of the highest quality and Sevilla are among the best in Europe.”

Vidal has had a difficult time grabbing appearances since arriving at Barcelona. That difficulty is only going to get tougher now that another midfielder has joined the Barcelona fray in Philippe Coutinho.

Since arriving from Sevilla in 2015, Vidal has only grabbed 25 league appearances. The move only cost Barcelona €18m but has certainly underwhelmed what many around the club expected from the transfer.

At the very least selling him could potentially be a wise move while there is still a market for Vidal.
