Unstoppable Barcelona take decisive step towards conquering La Liga | Quick Reaction and Player Ratings
Barcelona continued their commanding run in La Liga with a convincing 0-5 victory at the Benito Villamarin vs Betis. Now leading the table with a considerable advantage of 11 points over second-placed Atletico Madrid and 19 points over Real, it truly does feel that the title can only land in the Blaugranas hands at the end of the season - unless major unexpected disaster strikes, of course.
While the 0-5 scoreline is certainly impressive, the visitors had to wait until the second half to break Los Verdiblancos' back-line. Barca could simply not break Betis' high pressure as often as they would have loved to and were troubled defensively whenever the hosts managed to counter.
After half time, however, the match changed completely. Lead by a magnificent Messi, the Blaugranas managed to find the opponents' net three times in ten minutes, a blow far too hard to deal with for Betis. With the winner pretty much decided, the pressure applied by Valverde's team resulted in yet another two goals - completing a fully-deserved victory to be very proud of.
