Barça 2-0 Bilbao: Dominance
What a performance (in the first 45 minutes)!
Barcelona continued their march to the La Liga title with a very impressive 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou on Sunday, and the Blaugrana are now just 8 games away from the trophy. A truly spectacular first half gave Barça a comfortable two-goal lead and they simply cruised to victory against a poor Bilbao side, and the home team turned what could have been a very difficult afternoon into three easy points.
FIRST HALF
Barça played a truly fantastic first half of football against an Athletic team that just did not know what to do against the avalanche of attack that came after them. Chance after chance was created, and the reason Barça didn’t score AT LEAST five goals was because of the post and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
In the end, Barça settled for just two goals: one from Paco Alcácer and the other from Lionel Messi, who was the start of the show as expected.
At halftime, a truly spectacular performance had Barça very close to the win. Maybe some more goals in the second half?
SECOND HALF
So basically nothing happened in the second half, but that’s fine. After the first half we had, where we could have easily scored four or five goals, it’s okay to take the second half off when you see how easy the game is. Good work, lads!
