Luis Enrique leaves Alba out of Spain squad

The Barcelona full-back has not been called up

Luis Enrique has revealed his first Spain squad since replacing Julen Lopetegui in the hotseat and there’s no room for Jordi Alba.

Spain take on England in the UEFA Nations League at Wembley on Saturday 8th September and face Croatia three days later.

Here’s a look at the squad in full:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Kepa, Pau López.

Defenders: Carvajal, Azpilicueta, Albiol, D. Llorente, Nacho, Ramos, Í. Martínez, M. Alonso, Gayá

Midfielders: Busquets, S. Roberto, Rodri, Saúl, Thiago, Ceballos

Attack: Isco, Asensio, Morata, Costa, Suso, Rodrigo

Obviously there’s no Gerard Pique or Andres Iniesta after they confirmed their retirement from international football after the World Cup.

Sergi Roberto does return to the international scene after missing the tournament in Russia though, he joins Sergio Busquets as the only two Barcelona players in the squad.
