New Signing Moussa Wagué Makes Barcelona Debut
The Senegalese played for the B team for the first time
Moussa Wagué has made his FC Barcelona B debut in a 6-0 friendly win over FC L’Escala. The Senegalese international was signed from Belgian outfit KAS Eupen this summer.
Englishman Marcus McGuane alongside Abel Ruiz, Guillem Jaime, Rafa Mujica, Carles Pérez, and Monchu were the scorers as the B team started getting ready to try to gain promotion from Spain’s third division. L’Escala are a very small team who play in the Catalan leagues, but it’s always nice to start off with a victory.
McGuane scored with a swept finish to the far post in the 16th minute, and just a minute later, assisted Ruiz to make it 2-0. Guillem went on a dribble in the 38th minute as he evaded three players before deftly putting the ball past the keeper. Mujica was given a chance for a relatively simple finish in the 59th minute to make it 4-0, and then Pérez finished a cutback in the 68th to make it 5-0. Finally, three minutes from time, Monchu curled a free kick past the keeper to make it 6-0.
Wagué played only 20 minutes, but that’s to be expected given that he’s only just signed. He’s expected to start on the B team this season before making his way to the first team at some point.
