PSG and Monaco make offers for Rakitic
The midfielder is a wanted man
Barcelona have reportedly received offers for Ivan Rakitic from French clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
Mundo Deportivo report that both teams are interested in signing the Croatian midfielder, who was Ernesto Valverde’s most used player last season.
The report is quick to point out that Rakitic isn’t interested in leaving and Barcelona aren’t willing to sell, but also noted that his release clause is an affordable-sounding €125 million.
PSG apparently wanted to sign N’Golo Kante this summer but could not land the Chelsea midfielder and could turn their attentions to Rakitic.
Monaco, meanwhile, have plenty of transfer funds after selling Thomas Lemar and Fabinho. They will want to strengthen after getting thrashed by PSG in the Trophee des Champions.
Rakitic’s name has also been mentioned as being part of a deal to bring Paul Pogba to the Camp Nou from Manchester United.
The Croatian is a player who has divided opinion among supporters during his four years at the club, but a move away seems highly unlikely at the moment.
