Rumor round-up: Rakitić puts up house for sale plus De Ligt and De Jong latest

Rakitić puts up house for sale

TV3 is reporting that Ivan Rakitić has put his house in Castelldefels (Barcelona) up for sale and is sending his children to a French school. There is rumored to be a deal in place for the Croatian to leave if the right offer comes in. Paris Saint-Germain tried to buy him over the summer, so the chances of him joining them next season could be heightened. Stay tuned.

De Ligt and De Jong latest

TV3 also reported that Ajax duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie De Jong are keen on moving onto a new team as a pair. Previously, we had heard that Barcelona saw De Ligt as the priority and would be far less likely to also bring De Jong in. With the possible arrival of Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer next season, there was a fear of an “overbooking” in midfield if De Jong was also signed. However, Mundo Deportivo reports Barcelona are willing to pay 150 million euro for the Dutch duo, although they will have to beat PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City in the race to sign the pair. Barcelona hope that the team’s style of play and tradition of using ex-Ajax players will convince the two that the Camp Nou is the best destination for them.
