Following a thoroughly dominant display of football to move on to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, Barcelona are back in league action when they face Leganés at Camp Nou. Atlético Madrid won on Saturday and cut Barça’s lead at the top of the table to two points, so the Blaugrana need to win to stay comfortably above everyone else in La Liga.
Barça can also make it seven wins in a row in the league, a truly impressive display from what was a very inconsistent team at the start of the season. Leganés did beat Barça when these teams met for the first time this season, so this will most definitely not be easy. The leaders need a consistent, 90-minute display with and without the ball to get three points. If they do, this will continue to be a nice January for Barça.
POSSIBLE LINEUPS
Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Roberto, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal; Messi, Suárez, Dembélé
Leganés (3-4-1-2): Cuéllar; Omeruo, Siovas, Tarín; Nyom, Pérez, Vesga, Silva; Rodríguez; Braithwaite, En-Nesyri
PREDICTION
Leganés like to make these games ugly, so Barça will have to be patient. This will probably be low-scoring, but the good guys will get the job done: 2-0 to the champs.
