Valverde talks Boateng, Malcom and Denis ahead of Sevilla

The latest thoughts from the Barcelona boss

Ernesto Valverde has faced the press ahead of Wednesday’s Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg at Sevilla.

The Barcelona boss talked about Pablo Machin’s side, new signing Kevin-Prince Boateng and gave updates on the futuresof Malcom and Denis Suarez.

Here are the best bits:

Valverde on Kevin-Prince Boateng

Kevin-Prince Boateng is a player who has experience, knows the league and the role he will develop, he is different from Munir and if Munir still was here he would not have come.

We hope he helps us, he is a strong player. We trust Boateng a lot and let’s not forget he had a great season with Las Palmas.

All of Barça’s signings are always controversial. People spoke a lot about Paulinho and Arthur but they gave us good performances.

Valverde on Malcom

Until the 31st January we can’t say anything for sure but we can’t be left without enough players either. He has to fight to play more, we expect a lot from him.

Valverde on Denis Suarez

I don’t think there will be any more arrivals. It’s true there’s a possibility for Denis to leave but I don’t know what will happen.

Valverde on Sevilla

Sevilla are a great team with experience in the qualifying rounds and have the measure of this competition. Our analysis was based on the fact that they are a strong rival at home and in the knock out ties.
